It's THAT time of year again!!!

Yep, you guessed it...MINI-SESSIONS!

Be sure to read all the way to the end, to get all the details and rules!

This year, the sessions will be Fall/Christmas. Meaning - if you want season specific clothing, then plan accordingly. (I am not hinting that you should do season specific clothing, just telling you that if you do want it, you should start shopping). I personally love general clothing, so the photos will be able to be used year-round.

We will not have another set of mini-sessions before Christmas, so those of you intrested in our over 75 designs of Photo Cards, plan to use these images!

We will be posting our card designs soon! So be on the lookout!

The photos will be taken in downtown Canton, on the Historic Square.

For those of you who don't know, and a refresher for those who do...here's the skinny on a mini-session...

$25 gets you (2) 5x7's and a set of wallets

There's no sitting fee
Sessions are 10 minutes each.
You will be provided with an online album of your images, which are presented in both color and black and white. You can share this with friends and family, AND for all orders placed within 3 weeks of the album being finished, you'll get 20% off additional prints! All prints ordered after the 3 week period, will be regular price.

Now - some rules :(

- No double sessions this year. Meaning - one session per family. For Spring, we had too long of a waiting list, and with all the rain make-up dates we had, I never got to add another date to get everyone worked in. So, to be fair, and make it where more people can come, everyone is limited to only one session.

- If you STILL haven't ordered your prints from the Spring sessions, you HAVE to do that before Sept 13th (1st day of mini-sessions). You CAN go ahead and book your Fall session, but if you haven't ordered from your Spring Album by 09.13.09, then you lose your spot.

- ARRIVE EARLY. If you are 5 minutes late getting to the photo spot, then that leaves you 5 minutes to take pics, not 10. We book back to back, with no breaks, so if we get off schedule, that makes everyone off-schedule. Allow yourself time to arrive, find a parking spot, find Gabe to check in and pay, then find me. Also - if you plan to change the child's clothing once you arrive, so outfits don't get wrinkled or spit-up on - then plan early for that, as well.

- INFANTS - Your child MUST be able to at least lie on the ground and hold their heads up WELL in order to do these sessions. And, he/she must be comfortable lying on brick or concrete. I don't use blankets in urban sessions, it takes away from the look completely. If your child isn't able to do this, then a regular session is better suited for you.

I will have 5 pettiskirts available for use. If you plan to use one, arrive early enough to choose a color and put it on and get to photo spot.

Dates usually fill up quickly, so if you aren't around your computer often, to check email for return confirmation, then calling may be a better option for you.

- Your Name

- Address

- Phone #

- Children's Names & Ages

- If your children have any food allergies to any treats we may provide (Marshmellows, M&M's & Smarties are usually our drugs of choice)

- Your first date choice - with top 4 time slot choices - remembering that we go in 10 minute increments, starting on the hour...(i.e., 2:00. 2:10, 2:20, etc)

- An alternate date with time choices - in case your first choices are full.

- If you are a new client, please tell me who referred you

Ok - I don't think I've left anything out, but with Gabby Grace calling me into her room every 5 minutes, its hard to focus right now!

Sunday - September 13 - 10-2:30 FULL

Sunday - September 20 - 10-2:30 FULL

Sunday - September 27 - 10-2:30 FULL

Sunday - October 4th - 10-2:30 FULL

We may possibly open up a weeknight or two - late evening - like 5:20pm-7pm - but that's only a maybe right now. If Sundays are completely out of the question for you, then email me and let me know that. Those people will get first choice on the possible weekdays that we may open.

We chose to shoot on Sundays, because the square is closed on Sundays. I don't want to interfere with the flow of shopping traffic, and I don't want people in the background of my photos.

PS - Always remember, scanning/copying photos, trying get screen shots, using my photos on a christmas card, birth announcement, birthday invite, etc that I didn't provide you...is a copyright crime, and is just plain NOT COOL. If you are caught doing any of these things, I will never photograph you again. ☺

I've been shooting Harper for almost 2 years now, so when her mom told me she was expecting again, I was thrilled that the "G" family would be expanding!

So, without further adieu, here's Cooper! He's a big boy! Weighed 9lbs 13 oz at birth! I think he was 22 3/4" long, too! He's about a week old here.

I went to Clinton last week to shoot the lovely Sanders family. The funniest part of the shoot was when I first arrived...I couldn't find the front door! LOL

Seriously - that sounds nuts, but if you saw this cool house, you'd understand!

I almost had to call to ask how to get into the house, when I finally found a pathway that led me to a door!

We started shooting inside the boys' room, it has lovely natural light. We shot some more inside upstairs, then headed outside. They have a beautiful pond and lots of foliage on their property. And perfect afternoon NON-sun! Almost every spot in the yard was perfect for shooting!

Ok - I have to tell everyone that I got my new camera in, and I'm in LOVE! ♥♥♥

Oh, How I love thee...
I've dubbed him "Marky Mark" and my lenses make up "The Funky Bunch"

So - my very first shoot (besides my own kid) on the new camera was the gorgeous Anna Lauren.
This spunky 2 year old is NOT wearing make-up! She just has perfect coloring!

Oh, what I'd give to look like I was wearing make-up when I'm not!

It's so hard to believe that my sweet little Jessie now has a baby!
I've known Jessie and her family for years, and have always adored them!

This is precious Helen Dean, named after Jessie's wonderful grand-mother.
She was the most hilarious woman, ever! I think it's so awesome that Jessie & Kevin named their daughter after her!

Helen did a fantastic job on her first photo shoot! Here, she is just over 2 weeks old.
She slept pretty much the entire time, which is what I love, of course!

Yesterday, I was honored to shoot the most beautiful wedding @ the Dunleith in Natchez, MS.
It's a GORGEOUS antebellum home.
The wedding was originally planned to take place on the front steps, but the rain decided to interfere!
So, we went to plan B, and moved the wedding inside to the intimate hallway. It was beautiful and sweet and Meg & Chris looked awesome.

I wish you two the happiest life together, and I thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!

Mini-Session Updates

Unfortunately, due to weather, we had to reschedule Sunday and Monday's mini-sessions.
Sunday clients should've received an email this morning, with a makeup schedule.
Monday's clients will receive one probably by tonight. Still trying to get the date worked out.

I've edited and emailed passwords to all of the 1st day of sessions - which were taken Saturday March 7th.
If you haven't received an email, check your Spam Folders.

I'm now working on March 8th pics.

Remember - my normal turnaround time for editing, as stated on my website, is 1-3 weeks.

Spring Sneaky Peeks from Day 3!

We had day 3 of mini-sessions today! We call them "Spring" sessions, but I assure you, it felt nothing like Spring out there today!
As most of you know, who've worked with me before, I'm not fond of wearing shoes when I shoot! Well, that didn't mix well with the frigid temperatures and that COLD wind.

And, what's up with this weather? It snowed 2 weeks ago, it was 80 two days ago, and today it was dang cold! UGH!

If you are interested in a spot, please go ahead and email me, and I'll return those in the order they come in when I pick the new date. ****

It's time for Spring Mini-Sessions!

This year, we're going to do them a little bit differently.
We'll be doing them on at least 5 different dates. They will be for about 3 hours each.
This way, I don't get worn out, it'll be easier to get everything edited in a more timely manner, and we'll be able to accomodate more peoples' schedules.

I don't want to make these season specific photos. I would rather provide you with photos that you'll be able to display in your home year around. That being said, I will have no props (except the petti-skirts). If you want a bunny, eggs, Easter basket, etc...you must provide that yourself.

Dates and times are as follows...

We took Gabby to the square in Canton today. She's really hard to photograph, but I managed to catch a few. This is the only one I've edited, though. So here ya go!

Adding this one! It's meant to be "artsy" not cute :) And, obviously not taken on the square. This was at an old barn.

Warning! I actually shoot more than just children!

This is the Rock Band, "Bloodkin."

They are AWESOME.

They have several albums, and they have also written some of the songs that Widespread Panic sings! (well, WSP "covers" them, I guess is the correct term). They have opened for them before, and they also perform all over the US.

Anyways, these guys are nice as can be, and while here for one of their 2008 shows, they allowed me to meet with them before their show @ Martin's to take some shots.

Okay, I'll have to admit that one reason I haven't updated the blog since the pics of MM & KK is because I thought they deserved to be in the spotlight for a long time!

Now, I wanna share with you our family Christmas Card this year.
This is different from the ones that went out to my clients.

The one I sent to family & close friends is folded, on linen paper.
It was gorgeous, if I do say so myself!

I patiently waited 9 months to shoot these little munchkins!!

I can't look at this pic without smiling, or feeling just a little proud that I took it :)

Here's "big" sister, Kennedy. (or BK, as I named her). She apparantly stayed up all night last night, just so she'd sleep all day for me today! That was really nice of her to do that for me. Maybe not so much for mom & dad, though! hehehehe

And will you look at this little stinker? (Eminem, as I call her)
Sometimes, shots mean more in a series...and these 2 definitely do!
I think she did this on purpose, regardless of the fact that she's only 2 weeks old.

I'm back from Image X and I'm slammed with sessions and editing. So, no fun pictures to post right now. I did have a wonderful time at the workshop and learned a lot!

I will, however, post a few random bits of info...

1. All Fall Mini Sessions from Saturday, October 4th, are edited and have online galleries. An email has been sent to each of you. If you didn't receive an email, please let me know.

2. Griffith is finished. If you didn't get your email, let me know.

3. Since mini-sessions from the past weekend are finished, regular editing will resume in the order of your session.

4. If you are waiting on prints, they'll be in within the week.

5. We are now offering albums! Be sure to ask about them at your session!

6. The next set of mini-sessions are the 18th and 19th of October.
We are booked, but you can add your name to the waiting list if you want to be notified in case of a cancellation.

7. If you are in our mommy group, an email went out tonight about the pumpkin patch. Please reply back so I can get our info to Ms. Boyd.

I'm so so psyched! Sunday through Wednesday, I'll be in New Orleans for the Image X Workshop!
This will be an amazing experience for me, and I can't wait to implement things I'll learn into my business.

I'll be hard to get in touch with while I'm gone, so unless it's an emergency, I'll respond to calls and emails either Wednesday on the drive home or Thursday morning.

Fall/Halloween Mini Sessions!

Hey guys ! We've had an overwhelming response to our Fall/Halloween mini-sessions! WOW! We created the flyer Saturday and by Wednesday, we had 80 appointments! Things are gonna be hopping, but I think if everyone gets there on time and stays focused, this thing will run smoothly!

If you are looking for clothing ideas, here's a few ideas...

A. Halloween Costumes, of course! I love seeing little kids all dressed up! There's nothing cuter!

B. Something customized from Holly Pops Monogramming!
I just received an email from her this morning about a sale on Fall and Winter Jersey Rompers! For 2 weeks, they'll be $18, then will go up to regular price of $25. ( I do believe this includes the monogram, but I'll need to check to make sure) She does great work and can help you come up with a super cute design!

C. An outfit from Sweet Dreams!
The dress worn by my little poster child, Bayli Ballard Chandler, in the flyer that was emailed out, and that's over in the sidebar to the right, was from Sweet Dreams. They have the cutest fall outfits!

Hopefully that will give you some ideas for next month! I can't wait to meet all of the new faces!

Yes, I always want to take my clients kids home with me! And this little man, is NO Exception! He's soooo adorable, and loveable. I kept giving him belly zerberts. Look at that tummy...it just screams for zerberts! And, he has the cutest smile and screeches of joy. I know the reason for his happiness is his awesome family. That house is so full of love, that it just flows out the windows! Mom makes you feel right at home as soon as you arrive, and when dad gets home, Wade just wiggles and giggles with excitement! It's awesome!

Maybe I'll go back and get him, he'd have fun at my house! ;)

Just a Swingin'

Gabe & Gabby had "Soutside" time yesterday after some of the rain dried up. For those of you who don't speak toddler, that's "outside." Gabby thinks it starts with an S. Anywho, she went back and forth between swimming and swinging, hence the reason she's swinging in a swimsuit. Her feet got dirty, as you can see that's the focus (pun intended) of the first pic. Gabe kept telling her she had dirty toes, and so she kept saying "dirty toes, dirty toes." She thought it was funny. I thought it was picture-worthy.

Gabby Grace turns 2 today! I can't believe it!
Seems like we just found out that we were pregnant!

We had breakfast with Tyler this morning.
The servers sang Happy Birthday to her, and even brought her HOT FUDGE CAKE! FOR BREAKFAST?!?!?! She liked it ok, but Tyler loved it!
Rinna and Tyler gave her a priness crown to wear. She liked it better as sunglasses, though!
Her birthday party is Saturday, so I've got to get to cleaning and preparing!

There's a park just a mile or two from our house. It's so nice. The city holds all of their holiday festivites there. We went to a big Christmas thing there back in December. It's decorated so beautifully. We also attended an Easter Egg hunt there in March.
So, now the azaleas are in bloom there. They have tons of em, and I'll probably cry when they die!

Ok, well, the field still exists, but not the lovely yellow "wildflowers" that were there :(
This was back from Easter Sunday at Nana's house. And, if the scenery looks familiar, it was also the setting for some pics a few posts back.
I just got around to editing it last nite, because I was looking for the perfect picture to use this new "treatment" on. I love the timeless look of it.

As the title indicates, it's Gabby Grace and her daddy, playing. Oh does that girl love her daddy!

These 2 areas are awesome to shoot in...too bad they'll both be gone in a matter of weeks!
They are on Gabby's Nana's land, and the white is their yard (which will be cut) and the yellow is a field, which will be used for planting in. :(
I've been playing with "textures" also. They are a fad right now in photography, so of course I jumped on the texture wagon.

I am posting both versions - texture and not textured so you can see both.

80 degrees out, with a winter hat on!

It's getting to be the time of year when we get to start spending a good bit of time outside.
Yesterday was no exception.
I told Gabby that we were going to go out, and she ran into her closet and grabbed this winter hat. Yep, 80 degrees out, and she wants to wear a hat!
Now, I guarantee you, if I WANTED her to wear a hat, she wouldn't!
So, yes, we're wearing capri pants, a short-sleeve shirt, and a super duper cute hat. (We'll just pretend it's a summer hat! :) )
